What a Blessing! Thank You Java Relief Supporters!
These faces captured many of your hearts and because of that, because of you, the campaign to raise money for Jehovah Rapha House, a home in Haiti for special needs orphans, has been a huge success! Thanks to you, Java Relief sent $4000 to Don Shire Ministries which runs Jehovah Rapha House! Yes, $4000! We are amazed how many of you were moved by their story and wanted to help, and we are thankful. Praise God!
An update:
Pastor and Madame Dare have taken in 29 children over the years that now are between 3 and 27 years old. The first boy they brought home was found alone and blind. That boy is now 27. Many of these children were left at the Pastor's door while others were left at hospitals or on the street. One boy, Nedved, 8 years old was tossed in a trash can at the age of 2 or 3. Thankfully, someone saw this happen and told Pastor Dare. Other children that were abandoned were so malnourished that it appeared they needed special care but once they were fed and loved by Pastor and Madame Dare, it became clear that they were healthy.
While some of the children are able to attend school, others are tutored at home. Jehovah Rapha is also blessed by six women that help take care of the children and it's evident by the constant care that these women love them!
As you know the landlord told Pastor Dare they needed to move out of the home they lived in. They found two homes after that but they were rejected because the neighbors didn't want them. Now, by the grace of God, this week they are moving into a new home! It's actually a brand new home and as you can see from the photo, it's quite nice! Rent for the year is $8,000. Monthly food, medical and education is about $3,500. An additional need that we just found out about is for a vehicle for Pastor Dare. Right now if a child is having a seizure and needs to get to a hospital, Pastor Dare has to find a friend to drive or he has to carry the seizing child to a Tap-Tap (usually a crowded open-air vehicle that people jump on and off for rides). The money Java Relief sent will help pay for these needs.
